Since 2006,
TCC Africa has worked closely with the University of Nairobi in building research capacity in open science , scholarly and science communication through training governments, institutes and researchers in Africa.
What started as a need to support university students, in scholarly communication expanded and has led to several Global North- South partnerships in research capacity building. Prof. Stephen Kiama, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi noted how this partnership has
supported early career researchers in the last 15 years and it was logical to renew the partnership.
Out of this partnership, we have supported over 6,600 researchers from 80 institutes from over 40 countries.
