15 May 2020 Categories: latest news, News

86 participants from 14 countries took part in the just concluded online research capacity workshop on Creating a Streamlined Research Ecosystem in Universities. The researchers who took part in the workshop came from Sierra Leone, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Algeria, India, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Germany, Liberia, and Somalia. The objective of the workshop was to explore  the importance of increasing researchers’ visibility through effective research management.

ORCID, Training Centre in Communication, East African Research Information Management Association, and University of Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania hosted  the  research capacity webinar with plans for more research capacity initiatives.

90% of the researchers noted the importance of using research management solutions in supporting their visibility, particularly ORCID, which helps disambiguate scientists’ names, increases their network and supports research and academic institutes in profiling researchers.
