TCC Africa and iesResearch Partner to Advance Research Capacity and Outreach in the Global South

The Training Centre in Communication (TCC Africa) is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with iesResearch, the research engagement arm of iGroup, which advances research excellence through AI integration, strategic outreach, and partnerships across the Asia-Pacific and other emerging regions.

This collaboration focuses on strengthening research capacity and visibility for institutions in Africa and Asia. TCC Africa and iesResearch will work together to give universities, especially those with limited resources, access to tools, training, and platforms that help researchers communicate their work more effectively and reach wider audiences.

TCC Africa will connect iesResearch to African institutions through its regional networks, while iesResearch will support African universities with AI-assisted publishing, research storytelling, and impact-driven communication. Together, they will co-develop thematic reports, host joint webinars, and pursue collaborative consultancy opportunities that promote inclusive research practices and South–South knowledge exchange.

“This partnership builds on the strengths of both organizations,” said Joy Owango, Executive Director of TCC Africa. “We’re creating pathways for African-led research infrastructure, like persistent identifiers, open science tools and research capacity building initiatives to be shared more widely, while also learning from how Asian institutions are advancing research communication. It’s a genuine exchange that supports stronger, more connected academic ecosystems

“This collaboration will help researchers in Africa and Asia share their work more effectively,” said Dr. Wong Woei Fuh, General Manager of Consulting, iGroup – iesResearch. “By combining AI tools with strong communication practices, we can close resource gaps, encourage collaboration, and make sure research from the Global South reaches the people who can benefit from it most.”

This partnership brings together two organizations with complementary strengths, working across regions but toward the same goal: making it easier for researchers to tell their stories, share their findings, and contribute to solving real-world problems.
