Scaling Research Impact: Digital Science and TCC Africa Reach 6,000+ Academics in 2025

Training Centre in Communication (TCC Africa), in collaboration with Digital Science is proud to celebrate an exceptional year of growth, collaboration, and impact across Africa and beyond. Throughout 2025, the Dimensions Capacity Building Initiative reached over 6,000 academics, reflecting the strongest year yet in advancing research discovery, visibility, and equity across the Global South.

This year marked a major expansion of the programme’s geographic footprint, with national launches and workshops held in Benin, India, Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, and Morocco. These country-level engagements brought together diverse research communities—ranging from early-career scholars to senior institutional leaders—demonstrating the growing commitment across regions to strengthen data-driven research ecosystems.

The enthusiastic participation across all regions underscores a clear message: institutions in the Global South are seeking scalable, high-quality tools and training to elevate their research outputs and improve global visibility.

This year’s achievements build on a shared vision to foster inclusive, connected, and empowered research ecosystems—ensuring that scholars across Africa and other emerging regions have equal access to the tools and skills that drive global knowledge production.
