Apart from being involved in academic duties at the university, he actively contributes in scientific communication by researching on a wide range of areas which have resulted in ten publications in refereed journals and nineteen paper presentations in several conferences and symposia. As an advocate of Open Access, he has been charged with the responsibility of assisting the university in setting up Institutional and Open Access Repositories as a way of encouraging information sharing. This has been very popular with academics who readily communicate their research findings as well as accessing sources which have hitherto been restrictive.
He is also an accomplished Trainer of Trainers, having successfully handled Web 2.0 for Development workshops among others, with the latest from 2-6 February, 2015 in Puntland State University, Garowe, Puntland, Somalia.
