TCC Africa Welcomes Two New Members to its Board of Trustees

Nairobi, Kenya – 21 April 2026 – The Training Centre in Communication (TCC Africa) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Trustees: Dr. Daniela Saderi and Prof. Yousef Shaker Torman.

Dr. Daniela Saderi

Dr. Daniela Saderi is the Co-founder and Executive Director of PREreview, a non-profit advancing open, community-centred peer review for researchers, with a particular focus on early-career and historically excluded scholars. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Oregon Health & Science University and was a 2018–2019 Mozilla Fellow for Open Science. Dr. Saderi is based in Portland, Oregon, USA.

TCC Africa and PREreview have a history that dates back to 2020/2021, when the two organisations co-developed the first training programme on ethical peer review for African researchers, a programme TCC Africa continues to use to train peer reviewers across the continent today.

Prof. Yousef Torman

Prof. Yousef Torman is the founder and Managing Director of ASREN (Arab States Research and Education Network), a non-profit connecting 22 Arab countries through shared research and education infrastructure. With over 30 years of experience in ICT within higher education and scientific research, Prof. Torman has been a key architect of national and regional research networks across the Arab region. He is based in Amman, Jordan.

ASREN is an existing partner of TCC Africa, supporting the organisation’s open science advocacy activities across North Africa and the Middle East and serving as a key stakeholder in the Africa PID Alliance.
